The bad news? Well, Megan is barely in Jonah Hex. In fact, when it comes to her role, she even went so far as to invoke the dreaded “c” word.

“It’s basically a cameo,” revealed Fox when we spoke with her recently. “She’s a twisted love-interest to Jonah’s character; my part’s pretty small.”

As fans know, Jonah Hex populates a deadly world filled with lies, lead and life-threatening encounters. Which is why Fox’s next statement made it seem even less likely that her character Leila would be returning for those sequels.

“I worked the first week, and then I was shot out of the movie,” explained the beauty, who can be seen in next week’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. “My scenes with Josh were my favorite, because he really pushed me as an actor. He obviously knows what he’s doing.”

Although the film, directed by relative-newcomer Jimmy Hayward, is a no-nonsense genre flick, Fox was quick to point out that Josh Brolin approached it with the same acting chops as his recent Oscar-nominated work in Milk. “He’s a really amazing acting coach,” she said of Brolin’s efforts to help Fox improve as an actress. “He wouldn’t let me slide and do the things that I’m comfortable doing. Like, he really made me uncomfortable. He made me work – which I appreciate. I think that will hopefully pay off for me.”

And although Megan may not get much screentime in Jonah Hex, she said that the film is some of her best acting yet – and Brolin’s work may be nothing short of iconic. “He is a sort of chemically-enhanced, nuclear John Wayne on steroids,” Fox said of Jonah.

“I just did ADR on it,” Fox said of the late-stage voiceover work that that marked the end of her role in the film as it enters post-production for a September release. “There’s this scene in a kitchen. I can’t reveal too much — but it’s the first time you see me cross over from human to whatever this weird thing is that I’ve become. I actually truly frightened myself — which I’m excited about.”

The flick features Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody and others in the slickly written, tongue-in-cheek sophomore effort from Cody. It follows a possessed cheerleader who begins using her sensuality to lure –- and kill — her male classmates.

“I’m a man-eater. I eat boys,” the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” star said, grinning. “I’m sort of a zombie, but not really. I get improperly sacrificed [and it possesses me]… my character is a frighteningly vapid high school girl who’s captain of her flag team.”

“She gets improperly sacrificed by Adam Brody’s band, who have sold their souls to Satan in order to get a record deal,” Fox laughed. “And what happens when you improperly sacrifice someone is the victim gets taken over by a demon. They thought I was a virgin — and I was not a virgin.”

“So, I get taken over by a demon,” Fox continued. “And in order to maintain the state of the undead, I have to feast on human flesh. And so, I start eating boys.”

As anyone who’s seen “Juno” will remember, Cody’s style is as highly stylized as it is intricately hip. And so, Fox said that all the actors on set were careful to keep their improv tendencies to a bare minimum.

“That was actually something that was hard about making that movie,” Fox revealed. “Because it was Diablo — and because she just won an Oscar — we were not allowed to deviate from the script. Not even a single word.”

In this day and age of Judd Apatow, Christopher Guest and other ad-lib-loving filmmakers, such script fidelity has become rare. “It was really hard coming off of ‘Transformers,’ because everything is improvised — we don’t stick to the script almost at all,” Fox said of Michael Bay’s giant robot films. “So that was difficult. [Cody] definitely has a very specific way of speaking and of writing. But I feel like I tackled it okay.”

In the highly-anticipated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons. Michael Bay directs from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman.

In attendance will be director Michael Bay plus the stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel. This epic event will take place on the evening of Monday 15th June in London’s Leicester Square.

The battle begins at UK cinemas and IMAX June 19.

Film Independent, which made the announcement Wednesday, said the sequel will screen at the Village, Bruin and Avco theaters. The org noted that the fest served a similar role two years ago, when it hosted the L.A. preem for Transformers, drawing more than 4,500 guests to five theaters in Westwood.

The festival also announced that tickets to the premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, directed by Michael Bay and starring Shia LaBeouf, can be obtained by purchasing a pass to the fest.

The L.A. festival runs June 18-28, with screenings of more than 70 features, 70 shorts and 50 music videos.

But the actress’ movies might be the third most talked about thing when it comes to Megan’s life – right behind her dating life and her body.

In an interview in Elle magazine’s June issue, the young actress revealed how her much talked about relationship with Brian Austin Green began.

She first met Brian on the set of Hope & Faith, saying he seemed “sweet and quiet, harmless. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have to be with you. You’re not a threat, you’re not some d-bag that’s going to cause a lot of problems.’”

At the time Brian was 30, while Megan was just 18 years old.

“I had to convince him that I was slightly more responsible and well-spoken and had other things to bring to the table besides being 18,” she told the mag.

Megan refused to comment on reports that the two have ended their engagement and are in couple’s therapy.

“I do not want to comment on my relationship, period,” she explained to the mag. “It’s private. It doesn’t belong to the world. It’s mine. It’s Brian’s. It’s not for other people to judge and talk about and write about in In Touch Weekly.”

She also shot down the notion that her sudden rise to fame had somehow emasculated Brian.

“He doesn’t want to be my date… he’s a man. He has an ego. He went through this already, and he doesn’t want it back – It was horrible. So he has sympathy,” she said of the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star. “He’s the one person that I know that if I’m struggling and everything’s getting crazy, I can call.”

Megan might be remaining mum on the state of her relationship to Brian, but she’s quick to shoot down rumors that she rebounded with Twilight star Robert Pattinson.

“I just randomly asked someone for a light and it was him. That was the extent of our ‘relationship,’” she said of the brooding vampire star. “But I’m sure there’s going to be a different guy every week now.”

And Megan would like the world to know that Pattison is not her type anyway – the same goes for Zac Efron.

“He and Zac— they’re just too pretty with the big hair and the suits. And Rob is, what, 22? Zac is 21? That’s a joke,” Megan said. “Boys in their twenties are a waste of time. They have nothing to offer conversationally; they’re immature. I feel like I have a better shot with someone in his thirties.”

And though Megan is just 23, the actress tried to create the body of a much older woman for her role in Diablo Cody’s upcoming horror movie, Jennifer’s Body, – the body of an almost dead woman.

“I decided I would turn myself into a zombie,” she said of her body, which dwindled down to just 99 pounds while shooting the film that is due out in September. “I got super, super skinny, stayed out of the sun for four months, and got to where I was losing my eyelashes and my eyebrows.”

But fans won’t see a frail Megan when she battles robots with Shia LaBeouf this summer in Transformers. She had strict orders from director Michael Bay to bulk up by adding 10 pounds and to bust out the bronzer.

“Mike doesn’t want this little wispy, tiny girl to be the lead in his movie. He wants you to be substantial,” she said. “[And,] he wants us to be, like, Brazilian! My foundation from the movie is the same color that they use on Jada Pinkett Smith.”

Adding, “We just look red. Not even orange – we’re, like, maroon!”

The Transformers actress is attached to play an angel opposite Rourke in Passion Plays, an indie drama that Mitch Glazer is writing and directing.

Here’s the skinny on the project: Rourke will play a down-on-his-heels trumpet player, and Fox will play an angel in 1950s Los Angeles, with Rourke finding redemption in Fox after he attempts to save her from a gangster. Those familiar with the project describe it as a dramatic but heartwarming tale.

Fox’s character is described, in part, as as a slender beauty with wings who is part of a carnival.

Glazer, if you’re not familiar, is the screenwriter behind the Al Pacino CIA tale The Recruit and the Bill Murray comedy Scrooged who will be making his directorial debut with Plays; like Rourke and Fox, he’s repped by ICM. Laura Bickford, producer of ambitious dramas like Traffic and Che, is producing.

Fox, who recently followed her agents from Gersh, has landed a spate of projects of late, signing on for the Warners Western Jonah Hex and the Fox Atomic underwater actioner Fathom.

But Plays would mark a further evolution in her career; the actress, who burst onto the scene as the female lead in Transformers two years ago and appears in the sequel this summer (she’ll also appear, of course, in Diablo Cody’s upcoming supernatural tale Jennifer’s Body), had not previously signed on for a drama.

Screen Gems says the actress will star as the lead in the border thriller The Crossing.

Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi penned the pic, in which a couple returning from a Mexican vacation is carjacked and the husband kidnapped. The wife (Fox) must smuggle heroin across the border in order to spring him.

Directors are meeting on the project, and production could begin as soon as July. Jeff Okin will produce with Pink Slip Pictures’ Karen Firestone and Max Wong. Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and senior vp production Nick Phillips are overseeing for the studio.

Culpepper noted that Fox is ideal for the role of a woman who must be both victim and hero. The part “requires a vulnerability to make you care about her but a kind of strength to make you believe she can pull off the things she needs to,” he said. “And Megan has both a vulnerability about her and an unbelievable strength.”

The ICM-repped Fox has been racking up the gigs lately: She’s attached to play an angel opposite Mickey Rourke in the Mitch Glazer indie drama Passion Plays, will star in the Western Jonah Hex for Warners and will topline and produce the comic book actioner Fathom for Fox Atomic.

She’s next up in summer tentpole Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the Diablo Cody-penned supernatural high school tale Jennifer’s Body.
